Memorials to Our Rescued & Re-homed Malamutes

Most rescue dogs will find their permanent homes and loving new owners, but others are not as fortunate. A few dogs are overlooked by adopters or may be too ill to adopt, and died while still in foster care. All are a part of our rescue family and will be missed by those who knew them.

Prior to 2003?
A very sweet, gentle, and loving girl abandoned during Christmas '98 when her owner realized she was NOT a malamute. Honey was an assisted tranfer to NAWA rescue, later closed under legal suit in 2003. Only then was it discovered animals lived in horrible conditions, recieved negligent care, and were starved. They suffered greatly during NAWA's final years and Distemper killed many. Honey's fate is unknown, but she is believed dead.
